IRB Community Overview

Indian Rocks Beach Access | Parking | Restrooms | Amenities

Indian Rocks Beach boasts 27 public beach acess parks, more than any other Pinellas County barrier island beach town. Parking is also plentiful, as you may park on most city streets for free; just a short walk across Gulf Blvd. will have your toes in the soft sand and warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Many of the access parks offer a limited amount of free public parking, golf cart parking and handicap parking spaces, as well.

Public restrooms are available at three locations within the city; Main Beach Access Park, Kolb Park, and the IRB Nature Preserve/ Dog Park.

Most beach access parks are equipped with beach showers, bicycle racks, trash containers, cigarette recepticals & park benches. Each access boardwalk is marked by a sign on the beach and also at the entrance of the walkway going out toward the beach. You'll want to make a mental note of which access park you parked near; that way you can easily find your way back to your car (many of the access bordwalks look alike).

There are NO LIFEGUARDS on Indian Rocks Beach; swim at your own risk. In case of emergency call 911 and give the operator the location of the beach access you are nearest to (ex: 21st Avenue beach access).

Please remember that DOGS are NOT ALLOWED on Indian Rocks Beach. The closest dog beach is the Belleair Couseway/Bridge Dog Beach.

You are REQUIRED to pickup and dispose of your trash, recycleables, and cigarette butts in their designated containers located on the beach.

The following activities are prohibited on the beach: The building of campfires or bonfires on the beach (except by special event permit), Sleeping/camping overnight on the beach, the possession or consumption of alcohol (loosly enforced as long as you are discrete and don't cause disruption), the possession or use of glass or bottles, live music, parties or special events without city commission approval, movie productions without the city manager's or designee's approval, taking off and landing of aircraft, helicopters and ultralights, unless they are emergency vehicles, without approval from the city manager or designee.
